Find Me a Web Host

Privacy Policy

Version 1 · Effective June 15, 2026

Privacy Policy

Effective date: 06/15/2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Poodle Patch, LLC d.b.a. Find Me a Web Host ("we," "us," or "our"), the operator of FInd Me a Webhost / FindHosting.ai at https://findmeawebhost.com and https://findhosting.ai (the "Site"), collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you visit or use the Site.

What the Site is. The Site is an independent web-hosting comparison and review service. We help you research and compare hosting providers and plans. When you choose a provider, you leave our Site and complete any purchase directly with that provider. We may earn an affiliate commission for referrals — see our Affiliate Disclosure — but this does not change the price you pay.

What the Site is not. We do not offer user accounts, and you do not need to register, log in, or give us your name to browse, compare, or use any feature of the Site. We do not process payments and never receive your payment-card or billing details; those are handled by the hosting provider you choose.

By using the Site, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. A quick summary

  • We collect very little personal information, and only what's needed to run the Site, keep it secure, and (with your consent) understand how it's used.

  • We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

  • Analytics cookies are off until you consent. You can change your choice at any time.

  • We hash IP addresses with a secret key before storing them in our records — we don't keep raw IP addresses in our application data.

  • When you click an outbound link to a hosting provider, you leave our Site and that provider's privacy policy then applies.

This summary is for convenience only; the full Policy below governs.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Information you actively provide

  • AI assistant queries. If you use our on-site assistant, the questions and messages you type are processed to generate a response (see Section 6). Please don't include sensitive personal information in assistant messages — it isn't needed and shouldn't be shared there.

  • Direct communications. If you email us or otherwise contact us, we receive your message and any contact details and information you choose to include.

We do not collect account credentials, names, or payment information from visitors, because the Site has no visitor accounts and processes no payments.

2.2 Information collected automatically

When you visit the Site, we and our infrastructure providers automatically receive certain technical information, including:

  • Device and connection data — IP address, browser type, operating system, device type, language, and similar headers your browser sends.

  • Usage data — pages viewed, comparisons built, links followed, referring URL, and general interaction patterns.

  • Outbound-click data — when you follow a tracked link to a hosting provider, we log the link, the associated provider and brand, a timestamp, the referring page, your user-agent, the placement of the link, and a hashed (irreversible, salted) form of your IP address. We use this to measure which listings are useful and to reconcile aggregate, provider-reported referral data. We do not store your raw IP address with this record, and this measurement is aggregate and approximate — not a precise per-person earnings trail.

  • Security and operational logs — generated by our hosting and security providers (e.g., to block abuse and keep the Site available).

2.3 Cookies and similar technologies

We use a small number of cookies and similar local-storage technologies. See Section 4 for the categories, their purpose, and how to control them.

2.4 Information from third parties

  • Affiliate networks provide us with aggregate referral and conversion reports (for example, "Provider X drove approximately $Y across N clicks in a period"). These reports are not tied to your identity and we do not use them to single you out.

3. How we use information

We use the information described above to:

  • Operate and deliver the Site — serve pages, run comparisons, and provide the AI assistant (this is necessary to provide the service you request).

  • Maintain security and prevent abuse — including bot protection, rate limiting, and fraud and misuse prevention (our legitimate interest in a secure, available service).

  • Measure and improve the Site — understand which content and listings are helpful and reconcile aggregate affiliate performance (with your consent for analytics cookies; otherwise only via essential, non-analytics processing).

  • Respond to you — when you contact us.

  • Comply with law — meet legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

Legal bases (EEA/UK). Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on: your consent (analytics and non-essential cookies); our legitimate interests (operating the Site, security, abuse prevention, and aggregate measurement that does not require analytics cookies); performance of a service you request (e.g., running the assistant); and legal obligation. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time (Section 4) without affecting prior processing.

4. Cookies and consent

We group cookies and similar technologies into two categories:

  • Strictly necessary / functional. Required for the Site to work and to honor your choices. This includes a cookie that stores your consent preference so we don't have to ask on every page, and technologies used to secure forms and the assistant against abuse. These do not require consent.

  • Analytics (non-essential). Used only to understand how the Site is used so we can improve it. These do not load until you grant consent. Until then, no analytics cookies are set and no analytics events are sent.

Your control.

  • When you first visit, a banner lets you accept or decline analytics. We fail closed: if you take no action, analytics stay off.

  • You can change your choice at any time via the consent control in the Site footer/banner.

  • If we materially update this Policy, we may ask you to confirm your choice again.

  • Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies; doing so may affect how the Site functions.

The affiliate redirect that takes you to a provider is a functional feature and works whether or not you consent to analytics; only the analytics about that click depends on your consent.

5. Analytics

When you consent, we use PostHog as our product-analytics provider to collect usage events (such as pages viewed and comparisons or assistant interactions) so we can understand and improve the Site. We use analytics for our own product insight — not for advertising or to build profiles for third-party ad targeting. If you decline or withdraw consent, analytics events are not collected.

6. The AI assistant

If you use the Site's AI assistant:

  • Your messages are sent to a third-party large-language-model provider (OpenRouter and the underlying model it routes to) solely to generate a response to you. The assistant only recommends real listings from this Site's published catalog; it does not create an account or profile for you.

  • To prevent abuse, the assistant is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile (a privacy-oriented bot check) and by rate limiting keyed to a hashed form of your IP address. We do not store your raw IP for this purpose.

  • We log aggregate model-usage metrics (such as token counts and estimated cost) to manage capacity and budget. Please do not enter sensitive personal information into the assistant.

7. Affiliate links and outbound clicks

The Site contains affiliate links. When you click one, you are routed through a tracking redirect on our domain and then sent to the hosting provider's website. We record the outbound-click information described in Section 2.2 (including a hashed IP) to measure listing performance. Affiliate attribution we receive back from networks is aggregate, delayed, and approximate — it is not a precise, per-click record of you. Once you reach a provider's site, that provider's own privacy policy and terms govern your activity there, including any account you create or purchase you make. For more on our affiliate relationships, see our Affiliate Disclosure.

8. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We disclose information only as follows:

  • Service providers (sub-processors). Vendors that operate the Site under our instructions and are bound to protect the data, including:

| Provider | Role | Data involved |
|---|---|---|
| Vercel | Application hosting / serving | Request data, IP, server logs |
| Cloudflare | CDN, security/WAF, DNS, Turnstile bot check | IP, request metadata, security signals |
| Convex | Application database | Site content and the operational records described here (hashed IPs only) |
| PostHog | Product analytics (consent-gated) | Usage events, after consent |
| OpenRouter | AI assistant model routing | Assistant messages you submit |
| Sentry | Error monitoring | Technical error/diagnostic data |
| Resend | Outbound email (operational/administrative) | Email content and addresses involved in our communications |

This list may change as our providers evolve; we will keep it current here.

  • Hosting providers you choose, by sending you to them when you click an outbound link (after which their policies apply).

  • Legal and safety reasons — to comply with law, enforce our Terms, or protect the rights, safety, and security of users, the public, or us.

  • Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.

9. International data transfers

We and our providers are based in or process data in the United States and potentially other countries. If you access the Site from outside the provider's location (for example, from the EEA or UK), your information may be transferred to and processed in a country with different data-protection laws. Where required, such transfers are made under appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK Addendum) or another lawful transfer mechanism.

10. Data retention

We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this Policy:

  • Outbound-click and security/usage records (with hashed IPs) are retained for a limited period sufficient for measurement, reconciliation, and abuse prevention, then deleted or aggregated.

  • Consent preferences persist for a sensible period (up to about one year) or until you change them.

  • Communications you send us are kept as long as needed to handle your request and for our records.

  • Aggregate, de-identified data that cannot reasonably be linked to you may be kept indefinitely.

11. Your privacy rights (EEA, UK, and similar)

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; request correction or deletion; restrict or object to certain processing; request portability; and withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, contact us using Section 15.

Please note: because the Site has no accounts and we store IP addresses only in hashed form, we often cannot identify a specific visitor from the limited data we hold. In such cases the GDPR/UK GDPR may not require us to collect additional information solely to find or re-identify you. We will respond to verifiable requests as the law requires. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection supervisory authority.

12. Your California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use and disclose it, to request deletion, to correct inaccurate information, and to be free from discrimination for exercising your rights.

  • We do not sell personal information, and we do not "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under California law.

  • The categories of personal information we collect, our purposes, and the parties we disclose to are described in Sections 2, 3, and 8 of this Policy.

To exercise your rights, contact us using Section 15. We will verify your request to the extent we are able given the limited, largely de-identified information we hold.

13. Security

We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect information, including transport encryption (HTTPS), a web application firewall, IP hashing, bot protection, and access controls on administrative systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

14. Other important information

  • Children's privacy. The Site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

  • Third-party websites. The Site links to hosting providers and other third-party sites we do not control. This Policy does not apply to those sites; review their policies before providing information.

  • Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control. Because analytics are consent-based and off by default, the Site does not engage in tracking that a "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control signal would need to stop. We treat such signals consistently with declining analytics consent.

16. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Each update is published as a new, dated version; prior versions remain available at stable URLs for reference (see the version history linked from this page). Material changes take effect on the new version's effective date, and we may re-request your consent where appropriate. Your continued use of the Site after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.

We use analytics cookies to understand how visitors use this site. They only load if you accept. Affiliate links still work either way.
